These are the various stages the villian Cell went through.
Imperfect Cell
This is the form of Cell when he first appears in a city while gaining power rapidly by absorbing all the people into his long green tail. In this stage, Cell is very nasty looking, green all over with a tail and a tube like point on the edge, and a purple jewel on his shield like thing on the top of his hair.

Kills-Many innocent people, Android 17 (actually Cell absorbed him to go to his next stage
Imperfect Cell Stage 2
This form of Cell is still Imperfect and he doesn't gain very much power or speed. His muscles bulge and he gets fat purple lips. He remains green but this time the thing on his head is no longer shield like. Instead, it looks like the shield was cut in two and are now on both sides of his head and a big crystal ball is in the middle.

Kills-Android 18 (actually absorbed by him and spit out later by Gohan)
Perfect Cell
When transformed into this stage, Cell gets a huge boost of power (just the transformation takes him like 20 minutes) and his tail strangely disappears and he is left with the tube like needle sticking out of his back (Cell later uses this to make the Cell Juniors come to life and fight the Z Warriors.) Instead of dark green, his body becomes light green and the two shields on his head grow taller and he loses his muscles. Overall, he doesn't change too much from the previous stage although his power is an exception to that.
